I don't think I've ever considered myself very hip. I still have to give strong kudos to Being Daddy for his Unhip Parent's Manifesto. My favorite is the quote from an older colleague of his:
"You know, before you have a kid, you think you know what love is. You love your family and friends. You love your wife. But I'll tell you, you don't know what love can be until you have a child. It is deeper, truer. You know that you would die for your child. That you would do anything them. It teaches you how to be more patient, more selfless, more loving. It makes you a better human being.
