A Promising Sign?

Today, Dorothy ate three full servings of yogurt (two of which were "active culture" to help re-introduce digestive system bacteria, i.e., acidophilus, back into her gut)! One day isn't enough to indicate that we've turned the corner, but tonight she took her last dose of antibiotic, and we can only keep our fingers crossed and hope her appetite keeps heading back towards normal.

I have been reading a little on storknet (not a member so don't get to read all the posts) anyhow, have you had your baby checked for C-difficil? My daughter got that when she took Omnicef, it is caused by different antibiotics, and unfortunately the cure is another antibiotic. My daughter had the expolosive runny diapers like you were describing, and then within 48 hours of the new antibiotic she was doing great, eating again, and back to her normal self. It is a simple stool test they can run. Hope this helps

Thank you, Michelle! I'm reading about C. difficile infection now, and it does sound a lot like Dorothy's symptoms. I'll ask the doctor's office about this in the morning.
